Rousing interplay, joy in improvisation, arrangements with a love of detail an playful virtuosity are what make up the music of FLAUTH.
Babett Niclas (harp) an Barnabas Herrman (flute), who met while studying music in Leipzig, pursue their shared curiosity about melodies, sounds and playing styles. Their inspirations are the
musical traditions of Ireland and Scotland as well as those of the Caucasus and eastern Mediterranean. What ermeges is music on the border between tradition and innovation; partly simple, partly
playful melodies in subtle arrangements and ornaments of harp and flute are combined with minimal patterns and extended harmonies. The result is at once individual and traditional, familiar yet
different.
